Safe and Secure’s Heartsaver First Aid Skills Session is a classroom, video-based instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives. The course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs course completion in first aid to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.
Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.
The course can be taken in the blended learning format offered by the American Heart Association. Students who successfully complete the online portion of the course receive a certificate that allows them entrance into a skills practice session in order to receive a certification card. The online component is the first step in obtaining your Heartsaver First Aid Certification. The certification is valid for 2 years.
